In 2021, 178,914 people completed the Camino during the Holy Year of Xacobeo.

In 2024, this number rose to 499,242 – more than doubling in just three years!

The big winner in popularity is the Portuguese Coastal Route, which has seen strong growth in the number of pilgrims in recent years.

Women: 54.08%  Older than 46: 40.54%

  In total, pilgrims represent around 120 countries.
   
They followed the different Caminos:  
French Way                                      47,35 %  
Camino Portugués                            19,12%  
Camino Primitivo                                  4,9%  
Camino Ingles                                    5,62%  
Camino Del Norte                              4,29%  
Camino Costa Portugués                 14,97%  

Sarria remains the most popular place to start, 32% of all pilgrims start their Camino here, the last 100km on the Camino Frances.
